Join us for our mix of news, banter, discussion and music! This week your hosts, now “older men” apparently, get befuddled at reports of straight men ‘spooning’ each other, and we look at Arizona’s recent attempt to discriminate on religious grounds.
Before that, we join America in their furtive celebrations, and a gift innocently given at Morgan’s Christening resurfaces years later to show us how people’s perceptions have changed. Morgan discusses Plan B’s TED talk, which causes us to go all ‘Barry Norman’ on your asses. Then, it’s time for the news, some weird and some not so, and we have a dig at political parties’ latest threats at the jobless. NotMorgan raises a quizzical eyebrow at a report on changing attitudes to masculinity, and Morgan joins in by holding hands with an Indian man.
Our topic for this week begins with a look at Stephen Fry boycotting The Dorchester Collection, which leads us into examining Arizona’s recent Senate Bill 1062 which attempted to legalise discrimination against anything that ‘burdens’ a person’s exercise of their religious beliefs. We include a UKIP Councillor’s ‘ultra-libertarian’ comments (now retracted) and discuss whether businesses should be allowed to choose who they serve and sell to. NotMorgan unveils his possibly ill-conceived ‘Beware of the Discriminator’ signage ‘solution’, whilst Morgan reveals that Channel 4’s most divisive, discriminatory television programmes have the biggest audiences.
NotMorgan makes a poor attempt at V4V, prompting Morgan to take over and encourage listeners to get in touch and tell others about the show. We close with music from CloZee. Thank you for listening!
